Hi All,
It's a nightmare ot me, please help me.
My SQL server keeps rebooting, from once a month to once a week, now it reboots itself three time a day. I don't know how to track down, any suggestions like what scenario will cause a SQL service reboot?
Reboot Time - 10/16/2007 1:22:32 PM Abnormal Shutdown
Thanks,
Wade

Reason for reboot of a server is generally because of a setting which is in My Computer' s properties. Go to Advanced Tab and click Settings... button to open up Startup and Recovery window.
There is a System failure groupbox at the bottom. There is a checkbox labeled "Automatically restart" and is checked by default. If you uncheck it, then you'll see the blue screen at least. It may give you some clue about the reason of these restarts.
This setting changing does not prevent system failure, it just don't let Windows restart automatically when system fails.
Check out your System Event Logs for possible hints about the error that causes these system failures.
It might be because of the RAM or because of an over heating CPU because of a possible problem with the UPS.

I'm still not sure but I thought your SQL Server server reboots itself when I sent my first msg? So I tried to tell about that in my prior message.
If it was not your issue and your problem is all about SQL Server itself, then check out SQL Server Error Logs and Windows System Event Log. And share those possible error messages with us.
Also, if you go to Services MMC (running services.msc) and go to properties of your SQL Server service, you'll see a tab which is named "Recovery". Check out those settings.
However, that's for sure there is a problem, so I'm expecting some error messages.

Thank you very much, guys. your message is absolutely useful.
Unfortunately I don't have the access to that server. I will update here as long as I got more error messages.
Thanks,
Wade
