I am getting the following error when trying to install Visual C++
from the mounted ISO image. I have searched for the error code, but
nothing seems to work. Why is this happening.

---
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition Setup

The Windows Installer package: n:\vcexpress\vs_setup.ms_ could not be
opened

---

n is the location of my virtual drive. I tried to copy it to the HDD
and then again ran it, same result. Any help appreciated.

You may want to try the download again (possibly your ISO is corrupt),
and/or try a different optical drive emulation tool.

I don't think it will be about the ISO as VB, and VC# works fine. Any
other options
