Hi,

A few days ago I started to use a different laptop for my personal
development projects. The laptop contains a brand new Windows Vista
installation and Visual Studio Team System 2008 (Version 9.0.21022.8
RTM). I've been using exactly the same versions on another laptop
without having significant performance problems in the editor. I'm
using ReSharper 3.1, like before. My current machine is a powerful
DELL Latitude D830 with 2 gigabytes of RAM and a 7200 RPM disk. The
old one is a DELL Inspiron 6400 which had nearly the same
configuration.

The main problem is that switching between sources files is taking 3
seconds on average. The same applies for opening a new file from the
solution explorer and jumping to a compilation error from the error
list.

I tried a lot of different solutions from the internet but no success
yet. Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks in advance,
Marc Vangrieken

Make sure that you have installed the latest updates for both VS and Windows
and after that, take a look at the following two hotfixes:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946344/en-us
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946581/en-us

There are three other hotfixes but these are probably not related to your
problem:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946308/en-us (Visual Studio Interop)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944899/en-us (Reference Source Server)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947173/en-us (Report designer)
