There do seem to be some UK ones that specifically say that they support
Wordpress. Although in practice the support might be limited to an
automatic installation. For example Weycrest. They did respond very fast
to my enquiry email but they don't do phone support, and I would probably be
happy to pay a bit more and get that. Good email support is better than
bad phone support (especially if it's premium rate) but sometimes it is
useful to have a conversation. One reason I am dubious about US sites is
the time difference for support.

Unless your site is aimed at a business readership, the time
difference can actually be quite useful. The support department is
still at work while you (and a lot of your users) are at home in the
evening, which for a lot of UK-oriented websites is the busiest usage
period.
